New bars & restaurants

We’re super-excited about the arrival later this month of Minnow restaurant to Clapham Old Town –  21 The Pavement to be precise – serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with a seasonal modern European flavour.

We’ve heard positive comments about the pizza at Radio Alice Pizza – the latest eating place to open on Venn Street Clapham.

Sad to see Rosita Spanish tapas bar and restaurant go on Northcote Road. We’ve heard that it will be replaced by an Italian restaurant.

Tequila Mockingbird – fab name! – launches on the 7 July, located where Rise46 used to be on Battersea Rise. Set over two levels with a ground floor bar and basement party room, Tequila Mockingbird offers 2-4-1 cocktails during the week and late nights at weekends with DJs until 2am.

Clapham has a bit of a reputation for turning old toilets into eating and drinking venues. Now it’s the turn of the old Polygon building in Clapham Old Town to be transformed into a cafe.

Summer bandstand concerts continue at Clapham bandstand in July with two contrasting concerts.  Local band, Fuzion, who play a mix of jazz, classical and popular music, will be performing on Sunday 9 July.  And on Sunday 23 July the popular London Allstars steel band are back.

No need to travel all the way to Edinburgh to enjoy the Edinburgh Fringe. Omnibus has some of the best previews from exciting theatre makers from 26-30 July. See their website for full details.

Wandsworth Jumble Trail is back on Sunday 16 July 11am-5pm. It’s a non-for-profit event and last year over 90 stalls set up across Wandsworth raising money for local and international charities. For more details or to sign up for a stall, click here.
