Middle Eastern & Moroccan Restaurants

Middle Eastern, Lebanese & Moroccan Restaurants

Middle Eastern food is having a bit of a moment. New restaurants are opening up all over London and we’re getting our fair share south of the river. Let us know if you discover any more Lebanese and Moroccan restaurants in the Clapham area.

Beyrouths
73 Bedford Hill, Balham, London SW12 9HA, T: 020 7998 1853
A welcome new addition to Bedford Hill – the original Beyrouths is in Streatham. The focus is on fresh ingredients with an emphasis on Lebanese food.

Del’Aziz (Middle Eastern / Mediterranean)
55-57, The Pavement Clapham Old Town London SW4 0JQ T: 0207 4989128
Del’Aziz offers everythig from mezze to merguez sausages, and charcuterie to couscous or just pop in for a coffee and pastry. Great atmosphere and décor too.

Ilili
53 Streatham Hill, London SW2 4TS, T: 020 7998 4742
Lebanese food: sharing plates are popular. BYO. Gets mixed reviews but we’ve yet to try.

Argan (Lebanese/Moroccan)
73 Venn Street, Clapham, SW4 0BD, T:020 7498 3622
Specialising in traditional Moroccan and Lebanese cuisine, the Kasbah also has regular live music and belly dancing.

Meza
34 Trinity Road, Tooting, Wandsworth, London SW17 7RE, 020 8767 8722
This tiny restaurant (when we say tiny, we mean tiny – there is a handful of tables) comes highly recommended and great value too. Lebanese, tapas style dishes for sharing – they are quite small but the staff will advise how many to order. (Limited wine choice: red or white but it’s cheap and not bad!) Booking is essential.

Tagine
3 Fernlea Road, Balham, London SW12 9RT, T: 020 8675 7604
Ground floor restaurant, bring your own alcohol – no corkage fee – non-alcoholic cocktails served. There’s also a basement lounge and outside terrace with heaters (popular for shisha-smoking). Moroccan food – we have yet to try.
