Facilities for children in Battersea Park include a children’s playground, pedalos and boats for hire on the lake (and a lakeside cafe), bicycles and banana bikes for hire, tennis courts and sporting facilities for older children plus of course Battersea Children’s Zoo (see below). Go Ape treetop adventure and a new Pitch and Putt have recently opened (entrance charge). It’s even fun just watching the fountains spring to life (on the hour between 10am-6pm) or wandering through the sub-tropical gardens. Pay & Display parking.

Saved by the Heap family when threatened with closure in 2003, Battersea Park Zoo is a must see for kids. Favourites include the meerkats, Kune pigs – Piggle and Wiggle – otters and small monkeys. There’s a small café selling drinks, snacks and ice-creams and a good play area for younger children.

FlipOut trampoline park in Earlsfield is a great way for children to let off steam and get exercise in a fun way on a rainy day (or a hot one for that matter as it is air conditioned).

Also in Earlsfield, Eddie Catz is an indoor play centre for under sevens.
