Clapham has a long tradition of football – from the earliest teams playing on Clapham Common, through to Clapham Rovers Football Club actually winning the FA Cup in 1880 (yes, the real FA Cup!), to today’s modern and organised football clubs for kids and adults – including teams for girls and women. Celebrating over 10 years of success having grown from just one team in 2013 to 35 across different age groups! Competes in the London Saturday Youth League.

Beginners Academy – women’s football
Football coaching for women is provided by experienced FA qualified coaches. Sessions are focused on fitness, practical and theory work, with a game at the end to put those new skills into practice. There’s an advanced session for experienced players. Training Saturdays 8-9.30am or 10am-noon on Clapham Common SW4 9DE (to the right of the Windmill pub if you are facing it). Broomwood Football Club (kids’ football)
A kids’ football club run by parents with training on Wandsworth Common (end of Thurleigh Road, SW12) on Saturdays 10.30am-noon. For children of all age groups and abilities from Reception to Year 11. Girls squad also for Years 3-6.

Clapham Rovers Football Club
Winners of the FA cup in 1880! Based at the Westminster City School Sports Ground, Tamworth Lane, Mitcham, Surrey CR4 1DH, they are still going strong.

Clapham United WFC
Friendly 11 aside women football team based in Clapham which enjoys playing football as well as socialising together. Training is on Wednesday evenings and games usually played on Sundays. To join or find out more use the Contact Us section on their website.

Football for ages 4-11, girls and boys. Coaching, skills, and matches on Saturdays, plus holiday courses.
